Tristan Nguyen is a 2022 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-11 210 lb. frame from Gainesville, GA who attends Johnson. Medium frame with a stocky, filled out type build with strength showing throughout. Ran a 7.45 second sixty yard dash. Primary Left-Handed Pitcher, working with smooth, simple mechanics as he was clean in his operation while proving to be repeatable. Released from a downhill high three-quarter slot as he filled up the zone with a three pitch mix. Fastball was up to 85 mph and mixed in a sharp slider that had late bite to it. Also proved to have feel for a changeup. Swing and miss type stuff and shows ultimate confidence on the bump. Solid pick-off move and held runners on. Secondary First-Baseman, proved to be athletic in his actions as he scooped it up out front and release with urgency. Clean with his glove actions and then proved to have a strong arm. Was accurate as he threw it 84 mph during drills. Secondary Outfielder, working quickly into the baseball as he gathered to the side and carried weight well into throws. Whip to the arm as he threw it 85 mph with carry to the bag. Left-Handed Hitter, starting open as he works into a higher leg lift to stride. Strength in upper half as he whips the bat head through the zone. Outstanding Student. Named to Southeast Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.
