Drew Gustafson is a 2022 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 130 lb. frame from Northridge, CA who attends Granada Hills Charter. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean and young build with room with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, simple delivery on the mound, side step moving into a leg lift up to belt, some gather on backside while utilizes an on line and shorter arm stroke through the back getting to a high three-quarters release point. Tight release on the mound and works on top well, fastball topped out at 77 mph, mostly true in life and shows ability to work in on hitters. Fills the zone and shows rhythm, flashed a curveball at 67 mph and fields position well. Stays low through the ball at first base, funnels into body and shows quickness to release with athleticism off the base; moves well on feet in the outfield, longer transfers and maintains momentum through release. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide and spread stance; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box with a slight coil at the top of load. Employs a contact oriented approach, shows a linear path through the zone and generates bat speed through the zone while using a middle of the field approach. Excellent student.
