Matthew Ruiz is a 2020 MIF/OF with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Boston, MA who attends O'Bryant Sch Math/Science. Medium frame with slender, athletic present build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.39 seconds. Sets up to hit from even-based stance with leg lift trigger, line drive swing plane with quickness to hand through swing, shifts well into contact. Flashes ability to get the ball into air, showed good consistent barrel skills. Primary infielder, good footwork to both sides, athleticism through actions, quick release on throws, arm strength up to 73 mph. Also took reps in the outfield, light on feet coming in, shows athleticism, lines ball up well and works through it, quick easy exchange. Good student.
