Iorg is a smooth, very projectable infielder who is very fundamentally sound in all areas. He’s a lanky 6-2, 170 lbs and has lots of room to add strength throughout his body. There’s no doubt that he could play with an additional 20 pounds and probably not lose much, if any, quickness and speed. At Lincoln, Iorg ran 6.66 and 6.68 in the 60 and showed a good first step in the field, especially charging the ball. At the plate Iorg is a very patient hitter who will hit the ball to all fields. He has a flat bat in back and a well balanced leg kick in front and takes his hands through the ball well. We see him as a player who will slowly add power bit by bit over the years. While the power evolves, Iorg should be a high average gap hitter. Defensively, Iorg has a MLB average and projectable arm from shortstop. He’s very efficient coming in on the ball, where his quickness, balance and naturally low release help him. He has an outstanding feel for the game and simply makes all the plays look very easy. Cale is the son of former Major Leaguer Garth Iorg. So add the good bloodlines and knowledge of the game to his package. This is a highly projectable player. Cale is a good student as well.
