Parker Mergo is a 2023 1B/LHP, OF with a 5-9 130 lb. frame from West Columbia, SC who attends Brookland Cayce. Medium frame with slender, projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.92 seconds. Hits from slightly open stance, middle-field approach with line drive swing plane through the zone, good contact skills, handles the bat well and covers the plate, can work to all fields, projects well. Worked out at first base, plays low to the ground, hands work well, fields cleanly and comes through, good accuracy on throws, clocked up to 63 mph. Also pitched, closed landing on front side, lengthy arm stroke to low three quarters slot, fastball worked 60-66 mph with good arm side life. Very good student.
