Juan Jesus Leandro is a 2022 SS/2B with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Coral Gables, FL who attends IMG Academy. Large frame with room to fill and time to do so. Ran a 7.84 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, worked out in the infield with good hands and twitch to actions, comes around the ball nicely, light on his feet, comfortable ranging to both sides, balanced throughout operation, arm works well, topped out at 78 mph across the infield. Right-handed hitter, sets up with a wide base, compact and quick swing with good bat path, turns it over well, good whip to the hands, finds the barrel nicely, works consistently to pull side and middle of the field. Great student. Named to 2019 Florida Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
