Cade Perkins is a 2022 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Manhattan, KS who attends Manhattan High School West/East Campus. Long, lanky build with present athleticism and room to fill out. Ran a 7.31 second sixty-yard dash. Primary left handed pitcher. Stretch only. Employs a belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound landing online with the plate and staying online through finish. Moves down the mound with clean actions and good pace. Uses a long, loose arm action in the back going to a mid three-quarter slot at release with good arm speed. Features a fastball with late lefty run up to 80 mph complemented with a 1/7 curveball with big depth and looser break thrown for consistent strikes. Mixed both pitches in all counts for a strike keeping hitters off balance consistently. Also worked out at first base. Showed low out front funnels with clean glove actions. Flashed a clean back hands with quick exchanges into throws with good arm strength and accurate carry to the bases topping out at 81 mph. Also worked out in the outfield. Displayed low athletic actions working to and through the baseball. Flashed confident glove actions fielding to the side of the baseball. Displayed quick transfers into throws with good arm strength and accurate carry to the bases topping out at 79 mph. Left handed hitter. Employs an open stance with a leg lift trigger. Utilizes a slightly elevated bat path looking to drive fly balls and line drive to the middle and pull fields. Displayed the ability to drive the ball to the middle and pull fields with authority when on time and squared. Great student.
