Luke Boulanger is a 2021 2B/RHP, 3B, SS with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends Venice. Medium, broad shouldered build with present strength proportioned to frame. Ran a 7.90 60-yard dash. Primary second baseman, fields the ball out front with some bend at waist, funnels into a longer arm action with a compact release, overall actions will continue to develop, shows accuracy across the diamond. Also pitched, lower leg lift just below belt at start of delivery, gets closed at top and works to a high three-quarters release. Fastball topped out at 80 mph early in outing, shows nice tempo on the mound, filled the zone, mostly true in life. Curveball shows short shape to it up to 72 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high back elbow and a hand set away from body; upper body dominant swing and can incorporate additional lower half into load. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing, stays shorter to the ball and shows hand speed, contact oriented approach, shows jump off the barrel when squared. Looks to pull, occasionally opens front side early. Very good student.
