Tate Jacobsen is a 2022 SS/RHP, IF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Shawnee, KS who attends Mill Valley. Compact frame with an athletic build and square shoulders. Ran a 7.79 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary shortstop. Gets around the ball and stays through into transition. Fields out front with soft hands and a funnel to the body. Longer arm action into accurate throws and can manipulate arm slot. Lefthanded hitter with an even base to start. Utilizes a short leg lift trigger for timing. Creates shift into contact while getting the barrel head out and through the zone. Generates torque into a slightly elevated swing. Consistent barrels while swing with some intent to drive the ball to the alleys. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a side step delivery into a leg lift above the belt. Longer arm action in the back with arm speed into a three-quarters arm slot. Small bottom half coil at gather while generating some driving actions down the mound. Straight fastball with command to the glove side topping out at 82 miles per hour. Some sharp dropping action on an 11-to-5 curveball. Excellent student as well. Named to the 2018 14U National Showcase Top Prospect List.
