Jack Ben-Shoshan is a 2021 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends St. John's HS. Medium frame with long limbs and an athletic build. Ran a 7.32 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary shortstop. Moves with athletic strides while surrounding the baseball. Smooth glove work out front with a sharp funnel to the body. Longer transfer with quick feet. Loose arm action with stronger carry across topping out at 82 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with a strong approach. Even slightly crouched stance to start. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Simple and fluid swing producing solid line drive contact. Loose path to contact with a leverage swing path. Secondary righthanded pitcher working from the stretch. Stays tall on the backside and creates some drive down the mound. Compact arm circle in the back with a clean action from a higher three-quarters slot. Creates late life on the fastball at 83 miles per hour. Inconsistent release on the breaking ball that improved throughout the outing. Shows a 12-to-6 shape with sharp spin when released well. Named to the 2018 South Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student as well.
