Cruse Pingleton is a 2020 SS/OF with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Richmond, KY who attends Model Laboratory. Medium frame with long limbs and a lean build. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Primary shortstop with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while ranging for and rounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling the baseball and works through exchange well. Released from a three-quarters arm slot generating accurate, on line carry across the infield. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing similar footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels baseball off to side with clean glove to hand exchanges. Long arm circle at take back and released from a mid three-quarters slot topping at 76 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and large leg lift trigger. Coils hands at load and works to contact with linear lower half actions. Loose path to contact and worked through extension on an uphill plane. Looked to turn top hand to contact and lift the baseball between the gaps. Also pitched utilizing a large rock step to high leg lift delivery. Stays balanced on back side and works to the plate with tall and fall actions. Loose arm circle and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball flashed some running action to arm side in the low 70's, topped at 73 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/5 shape with loose spin and occasional depth in the upper 50's. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Very good student.
