Tyler Covington is a 2024 OF/LHP, 1B with a 5-5 135 lb. frame from Aliso Viejo, CA. Compact frame with a lean, athletic build. Primary outfielder with deliberate footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Funnels off to side and worked through exchange with fluidity. Deep arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Released from a three-quarters slot producing uphill carry to the bag at 74 mph. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Quick, compact hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Stays balanced throughout swing and flashed solid feel for the barrel. Consistently looked to generated sharp, line drive contact to the middle of the field between the gaps. Also pitched utilizing a side step to high leg lift delivery. Creates slight coil over back side at gather and lands in line with the plate on front side. Medium arm circle at take back and released from a compact three-quarters slot. Fastball created some downward plane through the zone with occasional sink in the mid 60's to low 70's, topped at 73 mph. Curveall showed 1/7 shape with looser spin and occasional depth when maintaining arm spreed through extension.
