Salvador Alvarez is a 2022 C/MIF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Montverde Academy. Compact strong catcher's build. 6.94 runner in the sixty. Has very good flexibility and lower half quickness behind the plate defensive, good footwork in his shifting and blocking, comes out of his couch well, quick exchanges and makes accurate throws with a compact arm stroke, polished receiver in all areas. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow base with a short and compact swing, high contact swing approach with a line drive mid field to opposite field swing, showed some ability to drive the ball to the opposite field gap, hits under control. Very good student, verbal commitment to Florida.
