Tate Hess is a 2023 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Dequincy, LA who attends Singer HS. Recorded a 7.50 second 60-yard dash time. High waisted build with some strength present in the lower half and room for projection. Primary righthanded pitcher with a side step into a smooth, repeatable delivery. Leg lift above the belt to meet his hands. High three-quarters arm slot with some whip to the finish. Fastball is heavy and gets good sinking life while topping out at 81 mph. Curveball shows good shape and bite with 12/6 shape. Good feel and poise on the mound while frame and ease of delivery project moving forward. Secondary first baseman with solid footwork and accurate throws across. Very good glove actions with soft hands and clean transfers to the throwing hand. Righthanded hitter with a high hand set, high back elbow, and a small stride forward. Longer swing with some loft to the swing plane. Works to both gaps and meets the ball out in front. Good student.
