Shawn Perez is a 2020 OF/RHP, 1B with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Cutler Bay, FL who attends Coral Reef Senior HS. Large, physical frame with strength present and room for additional size. Primary righthanded pitcher who only pitched during the event. Some moving parts to the delivery with a leg lift at the belt, longer online arm stroke, and throws from a three-quarters arm slot. Fastball gets good life on the pitch with arm side run to the arm side and cutting action to the glove side. Throws across his body and can pull the front side at times. Slider is shorter with some biting life on occasion. Good feel to manipulate the pitch and can land it on the backside corner to lefthanded hitters. Showed a couple of changeups. Everything moves out of the hand with a significant amount of swing and miss. Good student. Verbal commitment to Florida International.
