Daniel Iglesias is a 2017 RHP/3B with a 5-10 210 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends Mater Academy Lakes HS. Medium frame with broad shoulder, and present strength. Ran a 7.77 sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with a methodical side step delivery. Stays tall on back side creating good balance at gather. Utilizes lower half well while driving to the plate and lands in line at finish. Spins on heel slightly creating slight cross body action at release. Primarily released from an extended three-quarters arm slot the produced good life through the zone with running action on a fastball that topped at 80 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/4 shape with early sweeping action to glove side. Shows good feel and command for curveball with the ability to throw for strikes in positive and negative counts. Primarily worked up in the strike zone with fastball, but generated weak contact when creating downhill angle to the bottom of the strike zone. Consistently challenged the strike zone with both pitches forcing early contact. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing good first step actions with clean hands while funneling the baseball out front. Smooth arm stroke from a low three-quarters arm slot producing softer carry to the bag, topped at 73 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a simple, balanced stance. Stays on back side while launching to contact on an uphill plane through extension. Shows feel for the barrel and generated consistent line drive contact between the gaps with with developing bat speed. Flashed the hand and barrel control to work to all fields when on time and balanced with lower half at contact.
