Matthew Jackson is a 2023 3B/RHP with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends St. Peter's Boys. Strong well proportioned athletic build. Outstanding runner, 6.56 in the sixty. Shows good body control in the infield on defense, moves well to the ball and shows soft hands on the move, compact arm action with very good carry across the diamond when he lets it go, can see him playing centerfield as well in the future. Left handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a late hand drop load, has good hand quickness and stays short to the ball, can get into his strong lower half better to help generate bat speed and power, mostly a hands driven swing at present, flashed power when he got out front and extended. Also pitched, has a high leg lift delivery with a good hip turn at the top, hands stay tight to his body, 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, can out of his hand well and had carry through the strike zone, threw consistent strikes with his fastball. Curveball had some 11/5 depth to it at times, also threw a firm change up with some late life. Quality athlete and two-way prospect. Good student.
