Kale Scruggs is a 2023 RHP/MIF with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Sanford, NC who attends Southern Lee. Medium and athletic frame with room to fill and plenty of time to do so. Ran a 7.30 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins his delivery with a small rocker step up to a high leg lift, takes his arm back to a compact arm action up to a low 3/4 arm slot mostly, varied his arm angles for additional deception, showed the ability to stay mostly online down the mound and best command came when staying inline to the plate. Fastball flashed armside run at times and topped out at 75 mph, mixed in an 11-to-5 curveball with developing spin and some depth, did a nice job of pitching to contact and getting outs. Secondary middle infielder, sat back on the baseball during infield drills, fields the baseball into his body in a high gathering position, young hands and arm topping out at 72 mph across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with a narrow base and a high hand set, utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing, upper half dominant swing with rotational actions, showed some looseness to his hands with hand quickness at times, flashed some carry off of the barrel when on time.
