2020 PG Underclass All American Games
Luke Hanson is a 2022 SS/RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Williamsburg, VA who attends Lafayette. he showed good speed with a 6.84 second sixty. A primary shortstop with a long lean projectable build. On the infield he worked through the ball well with firm hands, his throws were accurate with good arm strength at 89 mph, he showed functional athleticism in the slow roller making a nice throw on the run. On the mound he sat 88-90 mph with his fastball, he works with good pace on the mound and has good feel for his delivery as he moved the fastball to both side of the plate, the curveball flashed some 11-5 shape but was inconsistent with the arm action, the curveball has potential when he gets on top of it at 71 mph. At the plate he starts with a narrow stance from the right side, he showed intent with the swing as the hands work through the zone quickly, he does a nice job keeping his chest behind the ball at contact, and keeping him grounded on the back side to create power from the ground up. Named to the 2020 PG Underclass All American Games Top Prospect List. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to Virginia.
