Danny Diaz is a 2021 SS with a 5-9 135 lb. frame from Weston, FL who attends American Heritage HS. Medium frame with a slender build and room to add. Ran a 7.09 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary infielder. Fields the ball out front with a clean funnel in. Shows range working in both direction. Gets into a long arm action in the back and releases from a lower three-quarter arm slot with accurate carry to the bag topping out at 79 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with a slightly open stance and short leg lift trigger for timing. Loose hands through a long path to contact. Shows some ability to control the barrel well when working contact to the pull side of the field. Line drive plane through the zone and can make squared contact when getting to the ball out in front. Excellent student as well.
