Trace Phillips is a 2023 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-1 172 lb. frame from Spring Hill, TN who attends Grace Christian Academy. Long athletic build with lots of physical projection remaining. Hits from an open stance with a fundamentally sound swing, creates good bat speed from a low effort swing that uses his lower half well, ball comes off the barrel well when he's timed up, projects well as a hitter. Has good balance and overall actions on defense, is light on his feet, works through the ball very well with a quick transition to throwing, plays defense with confidence, third base athletic profile and actions. Also pitched, quick turn into a high leg lift delivery, smooth high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 80 mph with good late arm side running life, throws strikes with his fastball. Flashed tight spin on an 11/5 curveball, still developing consistency on his release point. Very good student. Named to the Coastal Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
