Michael Cordova is a 2019 RHP/1B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Parkland, FL who attends Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a high waist, has room to still fill out throughout frame. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins with a high leg lift up past belt, short stride down the mound with an online landing and extension out front. Extended and lower three-quarters arm slot with looseness to arm action, generates running life to fastball from arm slot, topped out at 78 mph. Occasional sinking life, ball comes out clean, showed a feel for a 12-6 curveball with short depth but will have to continue to maintain arm speed on the pitch. Hands play at the ball at first base, accurate throws across with strength. Graded out higher with the bat in this look, righthanded hitter at the plate with a spread stance in the box. Full and fluid swing with looseness to it, creates nice extension out front and handles the barrel well for age. Hits the ball out front, shows power potential with nice present jump at point of contact. Very good student.
