Mitch Wood is a 2021 SS/RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Ottumwa, IA who attends Ottumwa. Projectable athletic build with some present strength and room for more. 7.10 runner in the sixty. Has polished actions in the middle infield on defense, moves well side to side and has a quick release on his throws with plenty of arm strength and carry, showed a nice internal clock in games making plays. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a simple and repeatable hands driven swing, swings hard and generates present bat speed, works gap to gap with good carry and plenty of power potential moving forward. Also pitched and is a two-way prospect. Has an athletic delivery with a 3/4's arm slot, worked in the mid-80's with his fastball with good command, threw both a hard slider and big slow curveball with good spin and feel, attacks with the fastball early in counts. Confident and mature player with skills across the board who will perform. Good student, verbal commitment to Iowa. Named to the Midwest Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.
