2022 WWBA Summer Workout Showcase (July 19)
Colten Payton is a 2023 C/3B, UT with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Madison, AL who attends James Clemens. Ran a 7.22 second sixty. Primary catcher with a tall thin athletic build. Sits in a side straddle stance with a wider base. Showed good arm strength with a quicker transfer and developing footwork coming out fo the crouch as he gains ground recording a 2.00 second pop time. Right-handed hitter, starts with an open stance using a leg lift trigger. Swing path gets longer at times showing young timing to the swing and getting to extension at contact consistently. Impacted the ball best to the opposite field at his best with some strength at the point of contact.
