Michael Schaefer is a 2019 LHP with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Muscoda, WI who attends Riverdale HS. Medium athletic build with some present strength, long arms and legs for his height. High leg lift delivery,uses his lower half well to generate drive to the plate, 3/4's arm slot, compact arm action in back and good extension out front. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, gets good running life, fastball got on hitters quickly and has some deception. Flashed some downer spin and bite on his curveball when he was out front with it, can improve consistency with this pitch. Change had some late sinking action. Command and stuff were at least as good from the stretch as the wind up. Threw strikes with all pitches and had a good outing. Good student.
