Sterling Sutcliffe is a 2020 SS/RHP/OF with a 6-2 186 lb. frame from Dallas, TX who attends Highland Park. Showed good speed and athleticism, running a 6.95 second sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with a medium frame and athletic build, rounding the ball well with clean glove actions and an easy transition to throws. Has some present arm strength with accurate throws across the diamond at 83 miles per hour. Secondary outfielder that is very quick to fielding position, coming to and through the ball with good pace and athletic actions. Makes accurate throws to bases at 84 miles per hour. Has a spread stance at the plate, using the hips well with a line drive barrel plane. Swings with the intent to drive the baseball, with developing barrel feel and control. Left-handed hitter that has some lift to and through the pull side gap. Secondary right-handed pitcher, starting from the windup with small side step and leg lift that reaches just above the belt. Uses drop and drive actions to create good linear direction down the mound, landing on line at foot strike. Has a medium arm circle at hand break, coming to a three-quarter slot at release. Gets some natural sink to the fastball at 81-to-84 miles per hour, and shows good feel to spin a short-breaking slider at 75 miles per hour. Has good feel for the strike zone. Good student.
