Angelo D'Acunto is a 2018 C/1B with a 6-0 178 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends Poly Prep Country Day. Large frame with quality, athletic build throughout; projects well moving forward as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.57 seconds. Sets up to hit from wide-based, open stance with high back elbow and high hands set. Short, quick stroke through the zone, handsy swing, small toe tap trigger, gets weight moving forward into swing, makes line drive contact to all fields, line drive swing plane with projection for more power with additional strength. Showed well behind the plate, receives cleanly, explodes out of crouch and gains ground well, smooth and fluid through actions. Quick transfer with good arm strength down to 2nd base, popped as low as 1.92 seconds. Quality defensive catcher overall. Very good student.
