Ross Tucker is a 2018 SS/RHP with a 6-1 150 lb. frame from Conyers, GA who attends Heritage HS. Large frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.88 sixty yard dash. Primary shortstop, fundamental footwork and glove skills while surrounding and working through the baseball. Clean glove to hand exchanges and releases from a loose, extended three-quarters arm action. Throws generated some carry across the infield with developing accuracy, topped at 73 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and high back elbow set. Hands drop to a slightly lower slot prior to launch, barrel comes through the zone on a level, line drive plane through extension. Flashed beginnings of strength and bat speed at contact with a mid-field to pull side approach. When on time, produced hard line drive contact between the outfield gaps. Also pitched showing an even start to simple side step delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and drives down hill with a compact stride length. Lands on a stiff front side and tuck glove side well at release. Showed a high three-quarters to near over top arm slot with a long, loose arm action. Fastball has occasional sinking actions down in the zone topping at 69 miles per hour. Curveball has 12/6 shape with loose spin and good depth. Held velocity into second inning of works and flashed the ability to consistently pound the strike zone with both pitches. Tools will continue to develop as frame fills. Very good student as well.
