2015 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Jon Bagyi is a 2016 RHP/1B, SS with a 6-1 150 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends South Mecklenburg. Medium-Large frame with slender, athletic present build and good room to continue filling out. Primary pitcher, shows long arm action with overall whippy, clean arm stroke. Some drop and drive in delivery, does good job generating leg drive with lower half, creates angle from extended 3/4 slot, FB worked 77-81 T 82 with solid life to the arm side. Showed CB with 11/5 shape and tight spin, good depth, does good job getting on top of pitch. Threw strikes with both pitches. Hits with lower hand set and toe tap trigger, balanced swing, doesn't fully use lower half, handsy swing with some barrel control, line drive swing plane with whole-field approach. Worked out at 1st base. Shows clean, smooth fielding actions. Moves well, shows athletic pivot, solid arm strength topping at 77 MPH across the diamond. Very good student.
