Rob Elliott is a 2007 SS/IF from Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, IL, with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame. He has a lean and athletic body with good speed and quickness on the bases and in the field. Defensively you can see his quickness in his footwork as he always gets in position. Elliot has good range, especially to his glove side, and can get to many balls in the middle of the diamond. He also has very good body control on slow rollers, and he shoed nice outfield actions as well. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a short bat path to the ball. Elliott has bat speed through the zone, and gets good extension on his follow through. He likes the ball on the inner half of the plate and will drive the ball from gap to gap. He has good hand-eye coordination and has a good understanding of the strike zone. He is also a good student.
