Pat Mills is a 2018 LHP/1B with a 6-4 170 lb. frame from Russiaville, IN who attends Western HS. Tall and slender young build, long limbs, lots of room to fill out physically. Loose and easy low effort delivery, high leg lift start, good separation with a long arm acton in back, high 3/4's arm slot with good downhill plane, stays on line well but has some front side collapse on landing, can use his lower half more effectively. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with with consistent running action, maintains velocity well from stretch and into his pitch count, got lots of weak contact off his fastball. Big breaking slow curveball, has good feel for his curveball and throws it for strikes consistently and will double up with it. Defines projection in a young pitcher, just a matter of gaining some strength for him to improve. Left handed hitter, hits from a wide base with an uphill swing plane, negative load, looking to lift the ball, has some looseness and extension through contact. Very good student.
