2017 PG Fall Top Prospect National Showcase
Luke McDevitt is a 2018 3B/RHP, MIF with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Monroe, GA who attends Prince Ave Christian High School. Large, athletic frame with and present strength throughout frame, additional room to fill moving forward. Good runner, posted a 6.75 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, shows nice mobility and footwork moving towards the ball, soft hands play well out front at the ball, funnels into clean exchange, fluid arm action and gets on top of throws, accurate across the diamond with throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Loads hands back at start of swing, utilize a simple step moving into contact. Short path through the zone and shows balance to swing, able to generate present bat speed and projects with additional extension out front. Ball comes off the barrel well and works the middle of the field with comfort, has tools in the box that project well. Named to Fall National Showcase Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
