Joseph Ciancimino is a 2022 3B/RHP/SS with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends St. Joseph by the Sea. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.35 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, athleticism plays in the dirt, quick movements with twitch and shows lateral range, extra step moving into release but live arm with strength and carry on throws across the diamond, controls the body well with mechanics. Also pitched, full wind up on the mound, whippy and compact arm action working to a three-quarters slot, nice extension out front with downhill plane. Fastball topped out at 88 mph with running life in on the hands of right-handed hitters. Slurvey 11-5 shaped breaker with horizontal plane up to 70 mph; fields position very well. Right-handed hitter, long and loose swing path through the zone, quick twitch movements at the plate and generates plenty of present bat speed. Barrel stays in the zone for a long time and is able to create loud, impact contact while utilizing a gap-to-gap approach and executes, power projects nicely. Good student.
