Sam Kulasingam is a 2020 SS/2B, RHP with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Holly Springs, NC who attends Holly Springs. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean build with plenty of room to grow stronger moving forward. Ran a 5.22 40-yard dash. Primary shortstop, takes long strides moving towards the ball and going up the middle, works behind the ball well, extra step at release but clean and short arm action through the back, athleticism plays and shows comfort throwing from multiple arm slots. Very interesting on the mound, full arm action through the back working to a three-quarters slot. Athletic delivery, short stride down the mound but clean arm action, generates plane to fastball at times and topped 81 mph. Spins hard curveball at 75 mph with 11-5 shape, late bite while showing maintained arm speed. Slows arm action on changeup slightly but turns it over well at 74 mph. Switch-hitter, looked more natural lefthanded in this look. Begins with an open start, comes out of weight load coil very well and gets on line in swing with solid bat speed. Fluid swing with feel for barrel and projectable strength. More contact oriented from the right side, handles the barrel well and shows a linear stroke. Nice young player to follow. Very good student.
