Collin Lang is a 2018 RHP/SS, 2B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Stow, OH who attends Stow-Munroe Falls. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength with continued physical maturity. Ran a 7.28 sixty yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher, works with good rhythm and tempo with a big rock step into a leg kick slightly above waist. Stays balanced throughout delivery and gathers well at balance point. Stays tall on backside and utilized lower half well while driving to the plate. Strides towards arm side of the plate and lands at a slightly closed position. Releases fastball from a three-quarters slot that produces solid running life in the upper 70's, topped at 81 mph. Curveball has 10/5 shape with good depth and tight rotation. Maintains good arm speed with curveball offering with good feel. Works ahead in the count and consistently pounded the strike zone. Effectively mixed pitches and changed speeds keeping hitters off balance. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing very athletic footwork while surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions with smooth funneling actions out front as well as to back hand. Solid first step angles to each side with good range into each hole. Baseball comes out of hand cleanly while throwing across the infield topping at 81 mph. Right handed hitter with a narrow, open stance. Lower half launches with linear actions and good shift into contact. Drops eye level occasoinal while striding with front side. Shows a mid-field to pull side approach with a line drive swing plane. Consistently squared up contact throughout batting practice producing occasional rising line drives. Very good student as well.
