Diego Prieto is a 2021 C/1B with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Doral, FL who attends Christopher Columbus. Solid frame with current strength, will continue to add nice bulk. A primary catcher who is comfortable in his set up, very quick feet and anticipates well. Exchanges quickly and creates good arm speed, accurate throws with carry, very good arm talent behind the plate. The right-handed hitter uses a leg lift and transfer his weight well. Small hitch in the load that helps create barrel momentum, never slows through contact. Flat hips and creates torque during process. Direct path and lifts well, showed consistency with the barrel during his round. Translated to the games well. Balanced catching prospect. Extremely good student.
