Chase Roberts is a 2021 C/RHP/3B with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Chattanooga, TN who attends East Hamilton HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front and begins with a wide base in crouch, gains ground with lower half out of crouch, gets over front side at release, gets on top of throws and shows carry down to second base, 2.06 best pop time. Picks the ball well in the infield, fields the ball out front, short arm action on throws and ball comes out of hand cleanly across, gets on top of throws consistently. Also pitched, generates nice extension with lower half down the mound, on line strike foot, works to a high three-quarters release point and gets on top of ball to generate plane. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, shows life to arm side and mixed in an 11-5 shaped curveball with late bite, shows nice potential with the pitch. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and high back elbow at the plate, uses a leg lift trigger for timing. Loads hands higher at start, shows quickness to get the barrel through the zone along with bat speed. Ball comes off the barrel well, high finish through the ball, lots of intent in swing and able to generate carry to the middle and pull side parts of the field when squared. Projects well with consistency to swing. Named to 14U National Top Prospect List. Very good student.
