Nick DeGennaro is a 2018 RHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Toms River, NJ who attends Toms River East High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and looseness throughout lean and projectable frame. Ran a 5.36 40-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, balanced set of mechanics with high leg raise up past belt. Fast and full arm action coming through the back working to a three-quarters slot with an easy release, gets on top of fastball well generating downhill plane, lives consistently at bottom of zone. Topped out at 86 mph and maintained velocity well, mostly true in life but overpowers with fastball and mixes four-pitches for strikes. Curveball has late bite and depth with 12-6 shape, throws slider with conviction at 76 mph with tight rotation and tilt. Mimics arm speed on changeup at 76 mph with fade down in the zone. Balanced and ability to repeat mechanics allow for consistent strikes and weak contact. Shows range in the infield with same smooth and clean arm action with strength across diamond. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide and open stance. Leg kick trigger at start of swing, works to the opposite field and creates line drive contact when squared off the barrel. Named to Northeast Indoor Top Prospect List. Excellent Student.
