Langston Watkins is a 2016 OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Lexington, KY who attends Louisville Male HS. Slender young greyhound build, has some shoulder width, lots of room to get stronger. Outstanding runner, 6.35 in the sixty and has run 6.29 previously. Left handed hitter, hits from an open stance, short cut off contact oriented swing, tends to decelerate the barrel moving through the zone, puts the ball on the ground and runs, beat out a couple of infield hits and made every play on him close, puts pressure on the defense. Fast to the ball in the outfield, obvious centerfield tools, long arm action with a big wind up, arm strength still developing. Has Mickey Rivers/Juan Pierre type tools if he can get stronger and make swing adjustments to drive the ball a bit.
