Josh Crabtree is a 2006 RHP/OF from Tattnall Square Academy in Macon, GA, with a 5'11'', 163 lb. frame. He has a strong and athletic body. On the mound he throws with a loose, whip like arm action. Crabtree gets good running action on his fastball in on the hands of right handed hitters. His fastball topped out at 83 mph with projection for more velocity in the future. His secondary pitches were good including a 70 mph curveball and a 69 mph change up. His curveball had slurve type action with solid break, and his changeup was very good at times with good sink and fade. Crabtree knows how to pitch and has good control of all three pitches. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a line drive swing plane. He takes a short stride and centers the ball well with good bat speed. Crabtree goes with the pitch well using the whole field. A two-way prospect, and a very good student.
