Nelson Velazquez is a 2017 OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Lake Worth, FL who attends Lake Worth HS. Medium athletic build, has some present strength. Upright stand, big leg raise to start his swing with an active hand load, difficult timers to be consistent with, has very good raw bat speed, nice direct hand path to the ball, gets his lower half into the swing, ball is loud and jumps hard when squared up, key in development is refining his timing as the rest of the hitting tools are there. 6.63 runner, very smooth and polished footwork in the outfield, long and loose arm action, makes accurate strong throws, high level defensive outfield tools. Good student.
