Tyler Esplin is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Lake Bluff, IL who attends IMG Academy. Big and strong athletic build. Left handed hitter, upright stance, starts very open and works to straight, swing is pretty short but has lots of strength at contact, can pull the ball with power when on time. 6.91 runner, moves well for his size in the outfield, long and full arm action with good raw arm strength and carry to his throws. Also pitched, works downhill from a high 3/4's arm slot, fastball topped out at 85 mph, has been up to 88 mph in the past, soft slider gets off the barrel, worked down in the zone and was effective. Good student.
