Kyle Carr is a 2020 OF/LHP with a 5-5 110 lb. frame from San Marcos, CA who attends San Marcos HS. Smaller frame with a compact, athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Left handed pitcher using a full overhead delivery. Short arm cirlce back at separation and releases from a three-quarters arm slot. Arm comes through extension easy and clean. Fastball has good diving action down in the zone ranging in the low 70's. Curveball has 11/5 shape with good, tight spin and sharp depth. Solid demeanor while on the mound. Commands as pitching in the bottom of the zone and edges. Starting generating some cutting action with fastball late, inducing soft ground ball contact. Left handed hitter with a narrow, open stance and high back elbow set. Direct path to contact with a line drive swing plane that shows slight leverage through extension. Smooth and balanced throughout swing with a mid-field approach. Flashed the barrel skills and hands quickness to square up contact to all fields as well. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth, athletic footwork while working through transition. Creates good momentum into throws with a clean release and solid arm strength. Throws produce accurate throws with some carry to the bag, topped at 74 mph. Nice two way prospect. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity. Good student as well.
