LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2005 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Adam Doyle is a 6-0, 175 lb second baseman from Canada. He is a 7.49 runner who showed good quickness on defense and some range. Doyle got to plenty of balls to either side during the showcase games and made a number of difficult plays when he was able to move to the ball. He tended to hang back and wait on the ball when it was hit right at him, but this can be corrected with experience and more repetitions. Doyle is a right handed hitter with a short line drive swing. He hits out of a crouched stance and will hit the ball to all fields depending on the pitch and location. He has some hand quickness. More extension in his swing could give him some gap to gap power as he gets stronger. Doyle profiles well to the number 2 spot in a batting order. He's a smart baseball player who uses his tools and skills well on the field.
