2014 Mid Atlantic Top Prospect Showcase
Sam Cleland is a 2015 OF/1B, LHP with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Monroe, CT who attends Masuk. Tall, strongly built, proportioned frame with lower half strength. Ran a 7.37 60 yard dash. Works from a wide setup and starts slightly open. Barrels the ball consistently and has a flat, line drive swing path. Shows good carry on his throws from the outfield. Arm strength is still developing but makes accurate throws. Hands work effectively at first base and moves laterally. Also took the mound, touches 72 mph from a high three-quarter arm slot. Works out of the stretch and shows fading action on a changeup down and away. Throws strikes. Good student.
