Dyer is a big and strong 6-1, 195 lb infielder from Georgia. He lists himself as a primary second baseman but is much better suited physically for a corner infield spot. Dyer had very good speed for a big athlete, running 7.10 on the wet grass in the 60 and threw 70 mph during infield drills. Dyer has good rhythm and load at the plate and generates good bat speed with a line drive swing plane. He made consistent solid contact and projects well as a hitter, with some power down the road if he develops more loft in his swing. Dyer has a hard nosed approach to the game that impressed us as well. Dyer is also an excellent student
