Alex Crotty is a 2016 C with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Lake Mary, FL who attends Windermere Prep. Big and strong prototypical catcher's build. Polished defender behind the plate, receives the ball cleanly, good footwork with a quick exchange, plenty of arm strength, on line accurate throws, 1.97 best pop time, has the defensive tools for the next level. Switch-hitter, has hitting tools from both sides of the plate, bit better from the right side at present. Keeps his swing short and direct from both sides, open stance with a pull/line drive approach, gets his lower half involved well, shows good patience and pitch recognition. Good student. Named to the Showcase All Prospect Team.
