Tyler Johnson is a 5'11", 170 lb. middle infielder from Mechanicsville, Virginia. In the field he showed solid arm strength (82 mph) with above average accuracy. Tyler has a good release and is very clean and out in front receiving the ball. Tyler's tools may be better suited for 2b, with the ability to throw players out on double plays from the backside of the second base bag. Tyler is a right handed hitter with a narrow stance and no load approach. He rocks in his pre-stride to get set with a short bat path to the ball. He has a line drive swing plane with average bat speed. He should be a good situational hitter with a gap to gap approach. Tyler's actions and skills are solid. He can play!
