2004 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
Billy Graham is a 6'2", 175 lb. catcher from Mechanicsville, Virginia, with 7.26 sixty speed. We have seen Billy at several events and he continues to improve. He shows very consistent pop times at each event. His throws are always around the bag with good carry through the bag. He showed pop ranges from 2.02-2.09 and top velocity of a very good 79 mph. Billy has good arm strength and is very consistent with clean transfers and good foot work. Graham does a very good job framing and receiving the ball in the game and handled Kyle Cofield, one of the showcases top pitching prospects, with no problem. Billy is a right handed hitter with very little load in his swing, and a flat foot approach with good bat speed. He has a line drive approach and showed a good ability in games to keep his hands back on off speed pitches and hit them hard to the middle of the field. He also showed the potential to pull the ball up the LCF alley when he gets his pitch. Billy has a nice overall collection of tools and some physical projection and should make a solid college catcher.
