Sam Cohen is a 2015 C with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Coto de Caza, CA who attends J Serra HS. Medium athletic build, some present strength with room for more. 7.23 runner, polished defensive catcher, received the ball well with soft hands, shows quickness in both his hands and lower half shifting, very good arm strength with a long loose arm action, very good game throws, 1.93 best in drills, 1.97 in games. Left handed hitter, spread bent knee stance, high hands with a hand hitch load, flashes some bat speed with a line drive swing plane, has hitting tools to develop with some adjustments and additional strength. Good student, verbal commitment to UC Santa Barbara.
